I started my Career in film storyboarding and was always really into comics like 2000ad and Sin
City, growing up. I think this gave me a really good training in how to visually tell a story. I also
used to work as an art director which taught me what you can achieve with some painted
cardboard and string. With film I was always attracted to the transformative power and escapism
of the medium, how the right props and framing out the c-stands and gaffer tape can immediately
transport you hundreds of years into the future or the past. My parents were both in show
business, I spent a lot of time in theatres backstage as a kid. I was always more fascinated with
the smoke and mirrors that suspend peoples disbelief than actually performing myself. I see
myself as an Artist first and a filmmaker second with my films as a narrative extension of my
artwork.
