James Eimmerman is a focused individual with a passion for filmmaking, theology, and education. He is driven with the motivation to conceive, produce and exhibit works that will entertain audiences through purposeful and universal cinematic storytelling.
Jim is also the founder of Still Point Films, a production company with a passion for the craft of filmmaking and a desire to entertain audiences through the eyes of the heart. Still Point Films currently specializes in pre and post-production, emphasizing story first to benefit all latter aspects of production. With multiple productions in the pipeline covering a variety of genres and themes, Still Point Films continues to move forward through timeless storytelling.
Force-Full Imagination is a story that harkens back to a more innocent and wondrous time of childhood when your house is a home, and your home is the world - with all the good and bad that might go with it. Its inspiration was drawn from watching my own daughter grow up in our second story apartment-loft in Los Angeles while playing with her dolls and action figures. I thought if I were still a kid, this apartment would be a fun place to play with my own action figures. The idea and script just grew from there and the whole film was shot in our apartment. Looking back, I would be kicking myself if I had not taken advantage of that setting and the film would have never been made. I believe child’s play is an important time in one’s early years. It informs, challenges and teaches children through creativity and critical thinking even long before the school years begin.
The primary themes of Force-Full Imagination are perseverance and fortitude. No matter the obstacles, consequences or setbacks faced by the character of Michelle, she finds a way to move forward and not change for the worse - and I love that. When viewing these trials through her perspective of playful imagination coupled with sibling rivalry, they can serve as an allegory and microcosm of what people might face in adulthood. In this way, I was inspired to produce a socially conscious film, but as a lighthearted “B movie” and “fan film” that pokes fun at itself at the same time. I also hoped to show kids how to create a playful environment with your surroundings as opposed to relying solely on a video game to do it for you.
Force-Full Imagination is the first production released by Still Point Films, a company that aspires to timeless storytelling. As the film’s writer, producer and director, it is my hope that this story serves all audiences to recall and re-kindle their own experiences of imagination and play that serve as personal moments of joy and grace.
