The character Bobo, is intended as a live action comic strip version of the male id. The girl, the knife, the hula hoop; all symbols of the id.
The id in this case, is a psychological term that describes the part of the unconscious mind that relates to basic needs and desires.
Also known as the part of the psyche that is the source of instinctive impulses that seek satisfaction in accordance with the pleasure principal.
In mentally and emotionally healthy individuals, such impulses are modified by the ego and the superego before they are given overt expression.
But of course, mentally and emotionally healthy individuals are rare commodities in an increasingly absurd and dangerous and dysfunctional world.
