Jasmine Jones is a filmmaker from Harford County. Her interest in film started from experimenting with her family’s camcorder at a very young age. She received her Associates in Mass Communications from Harford Community College and then continued at Towson University where she received her Bachelors of Science in video production. While studying at Towson, Jasmine found her love for filming documentaries. She completed her first short documentary in her senior year entitled, Living Natural and filmed a PSA that won the grand prize in the 2015 Maryland Anti-Car Theft Committee PSA video competition. Her influences stem from her family, love for music, and filmmakers such as Quentin Tarantino, Spike Lee, and Hayao Miyazaki. Her mission as a filmmaker is to showcase diverse stories especially stories from those of African Descent.
