Director Biography - Robert Fuhrmann

1980 . born in Dresden, Germany
1997 . left school
1997-2006 . organizing Techno-Open-Airs
2000-2007 . setting up a music studio and working as a producer for local bands
2004-2007 . doing A Levels at evening school
2007-2009 . studying History and Art-History at Humboldt University, Berlin
2006-present . working as a production soundmixer and sounddesigner for movies
2014 . wrote, directed and produced first short "A Mercedes for Sierra Leone"

Director Statement

I had a friend who had come all the way from Sierra Leone to get stranded in Berlin. His dream was to return to his country as a respected businessman once the war was over. That's why he wanted to buy my car, an old Mercedes. But before that happened, he died of a heart attack here in Berlin. I remember playing chess with him once in an old cafe on the canal in Berlin Kreuzberg. - I made this film for his memory.
