Platform 13
Platform 13 tells the tragicomic story of a Japanese railway conductor. With his equally strong as graceful movements he keeps the biggest crowds under control. But than he ends up in his biggest nightmare: a strange new world, in which he and his signals prove unnecessary.

Camiel Zwart (1980) graduated from Dutch filmschool in 2006 with the film Amen, a story of two religious teenage girls studying far away from home in a big city. The film shows their constant conflict with being strictly religious in a non-religious environment. In July 2006 Camiel started a documentary production company named Blackframe with producer Sanne Cousijn. The same year he worked on the music documentary ‘Home Made’ and the short documentary Otra Vez, about people in Honduras who see film for the first time.
In 2007 and 2008 he worked on several films and programs for children. ‘KidsXL’, a program where children from across the world show each other their lives and ‘Together Alone’, a documentary about an orphanage in the Ukraine. Together Alone received the Golden Award for best Children and Familyaffairs film and was selected for the Movies That Matter festival.
The documentary ‘0,5 km2 North’, an ode to memories, was completed in 2009 and show on regional television and several public locations in Amsterdam. Also in 2009 Camiel was selected for the Kids&Docs workshop organized by the IDFA and in 2010 received the prize for best scenario for the script of ‘Op Eigen Benen’ (On Our Own).
In 2011 he made the short dancefilm ‘Momentum’ about a quick encounter in a small alley, which premiered at Cinedans.
‘Past Perfect’ was his second long documentary about the last year of an elementary school, which has to close due to the small amount of children registered at the school. After this film he was asked to make an episode of the documentary series ‘Backlight’ from the VPRO. This episode tells the story about how ageing of the population can have a positive influence on our economy.
