Farewell Analog
Farewell Analog is set in 1990's in Bayandare, a Kurdish village in the mountains of Iran, close to the border with Iraq.
Kak Saee has sold his wife's jewelry to buy an old analog camera. His goal is to make a video documenting the everyday life of villagers and hopes to make some money out of it. As he goes all over the village and its surroundings, he obsessively films everything that he encounters.
While everybody seems happy to participate, he faces the indifference of Mam Kheder, a mysterious old folk singer who lives on the edge of the village. Eager to catch him on camera singing traditional songs again, Kak Saee chases him in the heart of the countryside, but the old man seems to have stubbornly retreated in silence.
In his excitement, Kak Saee does not realize that he is crossing the line.
