Bonnie Curtis is a multi-faceted artist, driven by an inquisitive imagination and a desire to discover. Her artistic practice incorporates performing and visual arts, discovering a passion for film making whilst completing a B.Dance at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts, Sydney. Bonnie has worked as an independent artist, producing, directing, performing and choreographing for film and live performance. Bonnie's fascination with the darker themes of life is prevalent in her work. She is inspired by themes that are often thought of as taboo in society and wants to make her audience question their views on humanity.
'Fixated' developed from the inquisitive imagination of Bonnie Curtis. Wanting to explore the stereotypical views of female sexuality and sensuality, Bonnie has brought to life a distorted image of feminine sexuality. Inspired by the imagery of iconic surrealist Salvador Dali and Sigmund Freud's theories of the unconscious mind.
