Manahel Alawadi, is an Emirati filmmaker, director, and actress who hails from the city of Ajman in the United Arab Emirates.
She graduated from New York Film Academy in filmmaking 2015.
Some of her accomplishments as a director is the film "love him as I do" which has already won awards in film festivals.
To start with, I would like to relay to you that this story is a humanitarian story that touches a specific category of individuals in the society, who are considered outcasts by some. I have taken this story through a reality of the society that we live in and see.
The story narrates the story of a married woman who does not give birth to any child for several years and after that she is blessed with a son who suffers from Down’s syndrome, the husband and wife are surprised from the doctor’s news that the child have Syndrome Down.
The father of the child refuses to accept his child, in addition to which his friend supports him in not accepting the handicapped child and encourages him to marry another woman or abandoned her.
But the mother of the child, and a mother always an affectionate mother to her child, especially when that she has given birth to after several years, cares for the child with as much love and attention as she would a normal child, holding him in her arms and in her welcoming bosoms.
Moreover , the story touches the lonely woman’s feeling as she is exploited by some men who come upon the opportunity to exploit women who are going through rough times, but whatever the circumstances the woman violently refuses to be exploited by them.
Where it comes to be seen that a woman is capable of taking care and raising her child with or without her husband, that life does not stop if there is an absence of a man or a husband in her life.
Eventually there is a lesson that an individual learns, if he wrongs any person, whether it is his relative or his friend or just a stranger or passerby in his life, there must be consequences for his actions that come right after or after a period of time in whichever way ( as you reap you shall sow).
