Director Biography - Graeme Campbell

The Scottish Director Graeme Campbell specialises in original stories of the strange and the fascinating.
Working within the fantasy/science fiction/horror genre he produced 'Four Letter Profanity' described by the press as a 'psychotic Alice in Wonderland'. Prior to this he produced an epic called 'The Hunt' which was pioneering at the time in it's combination of elements reminiscent of 'Mad Max' and 'Lord of the Rings'.
Graeme operates very much in a niche genre on the fringes of the Scottish Film Industry and his films reflect that. The surreal 'Upside Down' and the banned political thriller 'Ghost Dancer' demonstrates this.
Graeme's latest film, 'Legend of Black Diamond' was completed in 2015 and is a futuristic western with political undertones.
He is currently shooting the time travel epic 'The Prey - Specimen Red' and has a stack of other projects ready to go.

Director Statement

Graeme has always been a great believer that the fantasy genres are a wonderful and deeply subversive way of bringing topical political and social topics to a wide audience. In his latest film 'Legend of Black Diamond', released in 2015 he explores the international banking crisis and the controlling power of elites through a revenge quest adventure, set in the near future and dubbed a futuristic western. Within a Scottish context, the film is deeply political making very sombre points about the decline of heavy industry, but these are all sub-themes and the audience can still enjoy the thrill and adventure of gunfights, thrilling action and a constantly fast moving and shocking plot. The film also has two female leads in strong, powerful roles.
