Luis Javier M. Henaine (Mexico City, 1980) is a Communications graduate with a specialty in film from Universidad Iberoamericana. He has directed several short films and TV Commercials. Happy Times is his first feature film.
Happy Times is an offbeat comedy that tells how hard it is to end a romantic relationship. It’s common to see films about looking for and finding love, but there are few stories that show the last moments of a couple. Ending a relationship is a dilemma for most people, so why not exploit that in order to create a funny story?
The film shows how contradictory human beings and their relationships can be. They can spend years living in an unhappy relationship, but for some it’s better than being alone. The fear of the unknown, the guilt and the loneliness are some of the issues that prevent someone from making the ultimate decision.
Happy Times is an anti-romantic comedy that shows the decline of a relationship.
