Rainbow Families

Starting a family for most heterosexual people is far less complicated than it is for homosexuals. Many gay couples are unable to use certain adoption agencies or fertility clinics because of their policies against helping couples of the same sex. Additionally, International adoption is nearly impossible as most countries will not knowingly adopt to gay people much less gay couples. With all of these hurdles, gay people are still overcoming these odds and creating loving homes for their children, usually much more so than some of their heterosexual counterparts. This film shares the stories of two gay couples that are doing everything they can to start their family.

Director Statement

My partner and I wanted to start a family after I finished school so we discussed it with several of our friends that had gone through the process. It amazed me the stories they had to share of the hurdles to overcome for something as simple as starting a family. This film is about those struggles.
