Director Biography - Celio Franceschet

Celio Franceschet is a director and writer, known for Treasure City (2008), winning of Best Short Film at Brazilian Film Festival (BIFF).

Audiovisual Curator of Centro Cultural São Paulo, one of the biggest Cultural Centers of America Latina (http://www.centrocultural.sp.gov.br/) and film programmer in Lasar Segall Museum (http://www.museusegall.org.br/), bringing to Brazil a thousand of films and film Showcases such as Cinema Ritrovatto, Mumblecore, Cinema Bit Independent Film Festival, among others.

Worked as Sound Designer and Assistant Director of many shorts and some features and is part of a Art Collective Called GC FILMES.

Graduate from Universidade de São Paulo (São Paulo, SP, Brazil) Film School as Bachelor of Audiovisual Arts.

Director Statement

'Underdog' was shot independently on a 5D camera by a group of filmmakers in a small town called Casa Branca in São Paulo, Brazil.

The project was a short film with a one page script, non professional actors choosed between locals without any casting process.

Casa Branca is a small city used to be a train station center for Fepasa, one of the biggest train companies in Brazil. Today Casa Branca is build between abandoned railroad cars and rail lines.

The movie was shot in this city and their old and abandoned places where the kids use as a playground.
