“Sleeplessness in a Restless Garden” is inspired by the integration process of an emigrant in a new place. He lives in a home with the timing of his travels around the world, His home now is a vehicle that moves his memory from one territory to another and provides the displacement of his identity and the reconstruction of a origin in a new destination.

Director Biography - Arnaldo González

Arnaldo Gonzalez, venezuelan and spanisch artist. Was born in Caracas, Venezuela (1986) with spanish descendants of the Canary Islands, Spain. In 2006 he was graduated from the University College of Caracas as Technician in Marketing, a year later he started university studies in the Armando Reverón University Institute of Fine Art (currently National Experimental University of Arts). In 2011 he presents his degree artwork "My little and big universe" with which he obtained the Bachelor of Arts in mixed media degree with "Cum Laude" Honors. He is currently studying in the Master of fine Arts in Society of the University of Applied Sciences in Ottersberg, Germany. Recently he won the second prize of Artsit in showcase in the Cultural festival Altonale 17 of Hamburg. González works with digital media (video creation, experimentals films, photo interventions and performances). He works and living in Hamburg.

Director Statement

"With my visual art work I invite to the viewer into a contemplative state through photography and video. I relate to my surroundings with a border perception in which I build reflections with the emotional changes of my experience as an immigrant and my interaction between my body and my mind with imperceptible elements that live in the natural landscape. I produce and I appropriate of images and sounds that I manipulate by a computer to create poetic narratives.
