After his studies in philosophy and classical music, Nicolas Catz discovers cinema and begins by shooting short videos with his brother Venceslas Catz. In 2011, they write and direct together A Fragile Instant, about a young mother living between dream and reality. As an autodidact, Nicolas studies screenwriting while preparing several projects such as short movies and a feature film. In November 2013, he decides to adapt the novel the White Nights by Dostoïevski: Julia.
