“Josh” is a short film about an Amish teenager pursuing his first real love. As a young, gay filmmaker, I didn’t want to tell the typical coming out story that you would usually see with gay, teenage characters. Instead, our story takes place after that and follows his first run in with a boy he likes. On top of this, we added in the story of Joshua coming to the city for the first time, and how he adapts not only to city life, but the culture surrounding the LGBT community.
