Moughtareb "He who is in between"
Moughtareb tells the story of three young Egyptians living in a suburb of Athens, torn between home sickness, xenophobia and the hope of a better future. It's an intimate encounter with their daily life, one year after a violent attack against the first Egyptian fish monger of the neighborhood and father of one of the protagonists. This multimedia story is the result of a cross-disciplinary collaboration between a photographer (Stephanos Mangriotis) and an anthropologist (Lucile Gruntz) working on migration issues.

Stephanos Mangriotis
I am born in Athens and studied photography at Paris 8 university. My work is documentary orientated, I have worked on long term projects on immigration, borders and marginality. I am based in Marseille and parallel to my personal work, I coordinate a photography workshop with people suffering from mental issues. I have recently been collaborating with social scientists and cartographers to create cross disciplinary projects like multimedia pieces.
Lucile Gruntz
An anthropologist, I am currently living in Marseille, after many years spent in Cairo, Egypt. My work focuses on labour migration in the Eastern Mediterranean, between Egypt, Greece, Tunisia and the Gulf countries. I am especially interested in the way migration transfigures life paths, spaces, social encounters and intimate relations.
