Out of the Blue

It was supposed to be Adi's Big Day. He has got a new job and is about to propose to his love Nimi. But things take a turn for the worse when his ex-crush Puja shows up at their picnic outing unannounced. This leads to a standoff between Nimi and Puja. Jealousy and Misunderstanding spirals the picnic towards disaster. Adi has now very little time to convince Nimi about his true love, before she breaks up with him, and before he meets with an accident.
Somehow ,under strange circumstances , Adi gets three chances at going back in time, to the point of his breakup, and although he does not understand the reason why, he uses this opportunity to try and save his relationship and also to determine whether these series of unfortunate events are for real or not.

Director Biography - Tarunabh Dutta

Tarunabh Dutta completed his graduation in architecture from Sir J.J. College of Architecture, Mumbai in 2008.
He is currently working on a Sci-fi Children Fantasy Film ' Avataran' which is under production.
Proffessional Stint:
• His short film 'I am not crazy' won third prize in the Brahmaputra Valley Film Festival, 2013. He has done 16 short films that have been screened in various festivals, TV and cultural events. His recent works include - Lost and Found (2015), The Show Must Go On (2015), Out of the Blue (2015), 'A Misinterpreted Malady' (2014)
• Written and Directed the mini T.V. Series - 'Anusandhankari Spiridon' (2011-12).
• Assisted Film Director Jahnu Barua in The 3D Animation Ad Campaign for Directorate of Tourism, Assam (2010-11).
• Storyboarding artist in Disney's bollywood film - 'Zokkomon' (2009)
• Written, Directed & Produced the independent film Savages (2010) [ Horror, action] currently being distributed internationally by Monster Pictures, UK.
• Written, Directed & Produced the Sci-fi digital short film 'UFO' (2009) [ Children, Fantasy] received well by critics and media alike in Assam. It is also censor certified.

Director Statement

I believe in originality and I always strive for new frontiers, stretching the limits of imaginations. The prevailing tendency to produce films that stick to pre-conceived notions of tried and tested formulas is really tiresome and predictable and hence dampens the curiosity and kills the enthusiasm of the audience. Hence, innovation is a must in order to deliver fresh ideas and stories, exciting and intriguing and that's what I am striving for in my projects.
The new digital technologies have definitely helped in transforming ideas into visuals and I definitely plan to use the latest visual effects and animations in my projects, but at the same time, digital effects must never be overdone to an extent that it harms the story.
