Skydancers is an award winning documentary that explores the developing world of women in aerobatics. It portrays some of the world’s best female pilots during The 27th World Aerobatics Championships (WAC), Texas.

Director Biography

Independent writer, director, producer and comic book author, Fredric Lean started his film and television career by optioning the rights a of a French best-selling comic book called "Docteur Justice" (aka: Dr. Justice) in order to develop a worldwide franchise. After receiving several international awards for his work on the creation of the website for Dr. Justice, he was offered by French network M6 in 2003 to turn the comic book character into a live action TV series and a motion picture franchise. He then set up an international co- production and partnered with M6, Cinegroupe (Canada), veteran writer/showrunner Larry Mollin (The Renegade, Highlander, Beverly Hills 90210, Largo Winch) and highly successful Hollywood producer Steve Waterman (The Black Stallion, Stuart Little 1 & 2, Alvin and the Chipmunks) to create a multi- million dollars franchise.

In 2004, as a writer, he also created his first comic book series called "Wolf, The Last Howl" which was picked up and published by Semic publication in Europe.

In 2006, he made his directorial film debut, as a writer, director and producer with a 30 minutes drama entitled "Fragile" (2006) starring TV celebrity Sheree J. Wilson (Dallas, Walker Texas Ranger). Fragile which was part of the Official Selection of the "Short Film Corner" at the Cannes Film Festival, 2006.
In 2012, Fredric Lean completed his first feature length documentary called "IRAQ: The Wind of Hope-The Wind of Al-Amal" with the support of U.N.H.C.R (U.N agency for refugee) and THE IRC (International Rescue Committee). The film is about the world’s largest refugee crisis of the last 70 years: The Iraqi Refugee crisis.

In 2014, he completed as a writer, director & producer, a TV pilot entitled "Skydancers" about women pilots in Aerobatic. Skydancers is part of a documentary series called "Women Who Dare".

In addition, he has 2 major Motion Picture and Television co-production projects lined up under The Leanmedia Company. These projects are currently in development with European and the US partners.
