Ella Gabriel is a South African-born actress and writer living and working in Los Angeles. A graduate of the University of Cape Town with a BFA in the theatre acting stream, she has experience both on and off stage, and on and off screen. After the UCT final year production of Tennessee Williams' A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, in which Ella played Blanche DuBois, a multi-award winning South African theatre director, Philip Rademayer cast her in his two-hander, THE VIEW, which went on to tour South African theaters and festivals, as well as travel abroad to be nominated in four categories (including Best Female Performance) at the Dublin International Gay Theatre Festival, 2013. A co-creator of the twelve characters in The View, Ella's performance earned her nominations at the South African Fleur du Cap National Theatre Awards for both Best Supporting Actress and Best Newcomer, rendering her the youngest ever double-nominee in the awards' 48-year history at only 21 years old. Noteworthy film performances include REBEL ROSE, a narrative short film music video that written by Karien Murray, Ella Gabriel and Bahia Fitchen. The film was directed by Karien Murray of Giant Films for Berlin sensation, Alice Phoebe Lou's song of the same name. Ella also acted as a ghost writer / script supervisor to her father, filmmaker Ian Gabriel on his latest feature film, Four Corners, which garnered many awards and nominations around the globe.
