Honorable Mention Narrative
Gabriel Simon received his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Media Production degree from Buffalo State College.
His first film, "Take the Shot", earned him the RAVA Scholarship Award and he has since directed, produced, edited, wrote, and/or been cinematographer for many independent film productions.
He worked as the Director of Photography and Editor on "Legerdemain", a short film about pickpockets, which won the Audience Choice Award at the 2012 SunyWide Film festival. He followed up his success at SunyWide Film Festival by winning an Honorable Mention Narrative Award in 2014 for his post-apocalyptic short film "Siren" which he directed and produced.
Gabriel also worked as the Second Assistant Director on the feature length horror film "Dwelling".
Also in 2014, Gabriel co-directed and co-wrote the silent film "Silenced" with fellow director/writer Alaa "Zak" Noweihed. "Silenced" won the Buffalo 48 Hour Film Project for 2014 and has been entered into Filmapalooza, 2015.
