What will Europe look like if we continue to ignore the climate crisis?
In a not too distant future, the once picturesque city of Lucerne (Switzerland) has become uninhabitable due to climate change. Beginning in an abandoned kitchen, the scope of the change is revealed on an ever-increasing scale, until finally the dried-up Lake Lucerne can be seen.
3,5% is is a hybrid of 3D animation and live action. It is based on real footage of the city of Lucerne, heavily manipulated with CGI and Compositing (VFX). The audio consists of excerpts from interviews with Swedish climate activist and founder of the "Fridays for Future" movement Greta Thunberg.

3,5% is a hybrid of documentary and fiction.
The project is inspired by the scientific finding that non-violent protests always create systemic change when at least 3.5% of the population actively participates. Even though climate change sometimes seems like an insurmountable threat, the active participation in protests of 3.5% of the population would be enough to create real systemic change. This is what I feel amidst all the grim news on climate a spark of hope.
