Director Statement

Getting To First Grade began by chance. Our only plan was to show the experience of raising an autistic child without the gloss and sensationalism that often surrounds the topic. In the process we discovered how delicate the relationship is between parent and child, guide and apprentice. We found a renewed confidence that films can be made of real life.
