The Fields of Yaru
Within the dark labyrinth of a dig in the Egyptian desert, spunky archaeologist Jill and her mentor Mez open a sarcophagus. They are disappointed to find it was looted in ancient times and only contains a few artifacts. One of them sends Jill on a journey back in time where she witnesses the ancient rituals practiced by the gods. Mesmerized by the experience, will she find a portal back to the present and continue her adventures around the globe and back in time?

Finalist
Catherine Y. Fridey wrote, produced and directed her first short, "All in a Day's Work,” loosely based on her experiences as a tour guide. She is also the creator and producer of the animated TV series "The Time Travel Team" for the "tween" market that combines time travel and archaeology. She finished the demo reel for the pilot episode, "The Fields of Yaru," with the help of a grant from the New Mexico Film Office. It is also available in the iTunes bookstore as an Ebook. Finally, she has been a finalist with her feature scripts in several contests.
I have always been fascinated by both archaeology and time travel. In creating this series, I hope that young, and not so young, viewers can have the opportunity to learn about who came before us while watching an entertaining and fun story about a young girl scientist and her faithful mentor.
