Director Biography - Guillaume Renier, Marie Tricart

Marie Tricart was born in France. From a young age, she was inspired by photography and the landscapes she experienced on various family trips. After high school, she started learning visual effects, where she discovered a real passion for environments. She has been working since then as a visual effect artist on several movies such as Blade Runner 2049 and Avengers : Engame, focusing on her first love : landscapes. In the mean time, her love of travels inspired her to begin work on 37Degrees and direct with Guillaume their first movie together.

Guillaume Renier was born in the north of France. At the age of 18 he created his first travel sketchbook during a trip to Cambodia, which was inspired by adventure books . Back in France, he honed his artistic skills at art school, and augmented them by learning visual effects. Over the years, he has been working for various production like Marvel and Disney, but he has never turned his back on the road and in 2013 he started a crazy travel project, which became 37Degrees.

For the first film of 37Degrees, they have been travelling together to Vietnam where they filmed for two months ; travelling all the way from the China border to the Mekong delta.

What means 37Degrees ? I am sure you are all wondering.

Well, Guillaume and Marie thought a long time about what could sum up best their approach. And they have both agreed on 37Degrees after long and late nights' talks. Indeed, 37 degrees is our balanced body temperature. In fact, us, Humans need our body to be around that temperature to live. From far up on the Himalayan's plateau, all the way to the Caraibean Islands, we all have that in common. But we are actually so different from each other, in a cultural way, in our way of life or habits. 37Degrees project aims to show and share those cultural differences focusing on all human being who are making earth an amazing, complex, various and beautiful place to live.
