Change is inevitable and concurrent to life. Yet when it happens sometimes we embrace this change with joy and fervor, while at other times, we are overwhelmed and are unwilling to accept.
‘”Ka Lad” is a film set in Shillong, where we take a look at a day in the lives of four individuals: an architect, a barber, a chai-wallah and a contractor, whose fates are intertwined with the Lad (junction). They will all come face to face with the reality of a town witnessing alterations every day.

Director Biography - Gautam Syiem, Dondor Lyngdoh

Dondor Lyngdoh an alumni of the AJK Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Milia Islamia decided to return after film school to tell the stories and tales of his hometown shilling. He has won awards at international Film Festivals for a film he directed titled 19/87.
He is currently associated with Purple House Productions, Shillong, continuing his work on films.

Gautam Syiem is also an alumni of AJKMCRC, Jamia Milia Islamia. He was granted the Panos South Asia Film Fellowship in 2009-2010 and worked on a film on the issue of mining in Jaintia Hills, Meghalaya. His film Áll Not Lost…the Pnar story, has been screened and won awards at International Film Festivals.
He is currently associated with Purple House Productions, shilling and is working towards creating films which would inspire, challenge and entertain the audiences.
