31 Days of Cine is all about Horror! Since 2015 the production company Wages of Cine has been producing and promoting the 31 Days of Cine event on our YouTube page.

With an emphasis on filmmakers who currently reside in or are from Augusta Ga and its surrounding cities we are looking for top notch horror films that makes the bones shake.

A FINISHED film submission gains you entry to the exclusive one-night festival event!

On September 28th, 2024 we will hold the 3nd annual 31 Days of Cine Festival at the fabulous local Augusta theatre Le Chat Noir! Le Chat Noir is no stranger to film festivals being home to the prestigious and ongoing Black Cat Picture Show held every August. Films will premiere at the event and then be shown throughout the month of October on the Wages of Cine YouTube page.

By submitting your film, YOU ARE CONSENTING to having it air on the Wages of Cine YouTube channel during the month of October where it will STAY. A submission does not mean you will automatically have your film shown at either the event or on the YouTube channel. More information on this topic in the rules & terms below.

31 Days of Cine will recognize award winners in this possible categories on the night of the festival. Winners will be promoted as such throughout the month of October on the Wages of Cine YouTube page when their short airs.

Wages of Cine (WoC) will hold 31 Days of Cine (31DoC) on September 28th, 2024.

Eligibility: Films whose productions were completed after September 30th, 2023 are eligible for submission to 31 Days of Cine.

By submitting your film, YOU ARE CONSENTING to having it air on the Wages of Cine YouTube channel during the month of October where it will STAY.

Please do not submit any works in progress or any industrial or instructional films.

1. Films will be a minimum of 1 minute in length and a maximum of 5 minutes.
2. Films must be in the horror genre.
3. Films must contain no credits. (Credits will be added in the YouTube description when
your film airs on the Wages of Cine YouTube channel. Please Include credits in your project on FilmFreeway or in the vimeo link you provide)
4. Films must not use any copywritten music. (Purchased tracks from music sites for films are accepted, envato, audiojungle etc.)
5. Films must not contain gratuitous sexual violence.

A finished film will automatically gain you admittance to the festival where all the films will be shown (schedule permitting). If we have an enormous number of submissions the judges will choose at their discretion, enough films to fill out the schedule for the night. Every FINISHED film that has complied with the rules set WILL BE SCREENED on the Wages of Cine YouTube page regardless of if there was too much content for the night of the festival

All films submitted to FilmFreeway must be in the form of an online-screener or Vimeo link. If a link is password protected, then the password must be valid through Sept 1, 2023, otherwise your submission will be considered INVALID and will be DISQUALIFIED with no entry-fee refund.

Once your film has been submitted via the 31DoC FilmFreeway portal, it is your responsibility to check your FilmFreeway account to ensure that your submission meets WoC's requirements; that you have provided all necessary information to WoC; and that your film has been accepted by WoC for consideration.

Refunds

WoC will not honor any requests for submission-fee refunds. Refunds will not be issued to any Applicant for any submission, regardless of selection for 31DoC, for any reason, including changes to 31DoCs dates, venues, or format that Wages of Cine may announce at any time.

WoC values the health and safety of all Festival participants, audience members, staff, and volunteers and takes their well-being seriously, especially in view of the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic. To protect audience, filmmaker, staff, and volunteer health and safety and comply with any applicable orders or guidelines issued by federal, state, or local authorities, WoC reserves the right to cancel 31DoC; institute rules governing in-person participation at 31DoC, such as theater- or event-capacity limits and face-covering requirements; or revise the dates, location, and in-person format of 31DoC at any time, including, but not limited to, after having accepted films for screening during the Festival. WoC reserves the right to hold 31DoC as an entirely online event if WoC, in its sole discretion, determines that circumstances so require. WoC is committed to communicating any changes to the 31DoC program to applicants, participants, and audience members in a timely manner via its website and/or direct communication with filmmakers.

Warranties and License

All Applicants and Participants warrant that they own the copyright to the film that they have submitted for 31DoC consideration. Applicants and Participants further warrant that they have secured all necessary rights and clearances to exhibit their film during 31DoC; are authorized to accept these Filmmaker Terms and Conditions; and are authorized to grant WoC a license to exhibit the film during the Festival and during the following month of October on the WoC YouTube channel. Participants hereby grant WoC a non-exclusive license to exhibit their film during 31DoC as well as the WoC YouTube channel.

Indemnity

All Applicants and Participants agree, to the extent permissible by applicable law, to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless WoC and its directors, officers, employees, affiliates, licensees, and agents from and against any and all claims, losses, liabilities, demands, legal costs (including court costs and reasonable experts’ and attorneys’ fees), judgments, and other expenses that arise at any point in time, before, during, or after 31DoC, out of or on account of the Applicants’ or Participants’ involvement in 31DoC and/or WoC’s selection process for the same.
