300 Crusaders

James Aitken, a British spy, is sent on a secret mission deep into the mountains of the Caucasus. Disguised as a traveler, he is caught in an ambush by a group of mysterious highlanders. Initially unsure whether they are enemies or allies, James is wounded in the attack. He is rescued and nursed back to health by a family of these rugged mountain people, whose traditions seem rooted in ancient customs and legends. As he recovers, James learns of their history-descendants of crusaders and knights, who fled from France centuries ago, bearing crosses and swords. Their remote village, Shatili, is a fortress hidden in the mountains, a last bastion of forgotten chivalric orders. The highlanders practice an ancient martial tradition, with swordplay and honor forming the core of their way of life. James, intrigued by their unique customs, finds himself drawn to their powerful, enigmatic leader, and especially to Lela, the fierce and beautiful daughter of his hosts. Amidst growing tension with foreign invaders, James discovers that the highlanders' ancestors may have once belonged to the legendary Knights Templar. As his bond with Lela deepens, so does his fascination with their shared heritage. But as the enemies close in, James must decide whether to return to his mission or stand with the highlanders in their final stand.
