The Example
During a race riot in Beaumont, Texas in June 1943, Officer Miller Harvey, a white police officer is determined to protect and serve his city and family. Black business owner Carver Jefferson is hell-bent on taking his family far away from the city as racial hostility has led to the destruction of his home and business.
After curfew while Beaumont is under martial law, Harvey, another white officer and Jefferson’s worlds collide at a roadblock. Tensions explode on that hot summer night, forcing them to make decisions that will question their morals, loyalty and manhood.

Story telling has always been a part of the life of Wyatt Cagle, from the days in his youth where he performed on stage for a local theater troupe to being the director of The Example.
After college, the Lamar University graduate traveled across the country working on several feature films. One of those features, The Breakdance Kid premiered at the Austin Film Festival in 2004 was Wyatt’s first opportunity to serve as director of photography on a feature project. For a number of years, he worked at POV Editing & Visual Effects in Houston and Sominio Solutions in Austin gaining experience as an editor and director working on content for Fortune 500 companies and feature film clientele.
The world of freelance opportunities called Wyatt again; he started traveling around the country gaining more experience in film production until he began working with Team Baby Entertainment. At Team Baby in Houston, Cagle was in charge of production and post-production for a children’s video series.
Always looking for new challenges, Wyatt and business partner Greg Scheinman, created a documentary series titled Profiles With Greg Schienman on PBS that was on air for two seasons. In 2009, he was approached by SWD Productions to help produce a television series involving the Houston Dynamo, Houston’s professional soccer team for Fox Sports Network titled Shooting Stars. The program aired in August 2010.
Well rounded and well versed in all areas of the industry, Wyatt has brought his talents and skills to the award-winning project Not Like The Commercials where he was a producer, the director and editor. Cagle will be resuming these roles for production of "The Example."
