25/25
The title of the film refers to, on the one hand, the tradition of numbering subsequent graphic prints, and on the other, the fact that the movie sequence was drawn on "25 frames per second".
Each subsequent drawing looks similar to the previous one, like copies of the same pattern; in fact, they are only different in the details. Their meaning is conveyed only through motion.
Each drawing consists of a huge number of micro-actions that can be viewed infinite times, searching for the new sound and image interaction. So a looped sequence that lasts only one second,
can extend to an unlimited length, depending on the viewer's perception. The soundtrack is a combination of field recording (mainly, our private home audio-sphere) and electronic sounds produced with a Synthi AKS synthesizer. It is recommended to watch this movie with headphones or proper stereo sound system.

kinoMANUAL was created by Aga Jarząb and Maciek Bączyk. It’s a small, independent audio-visual production house from Wrocław (Poland) focused on experimenting with the moving image and sound. We mainly explore analogue animation techniques such as hand-drawn, cut-out or direct cinema. We enjoy manual contact with film and production process itself. kinoMANUAL creates films and objects that correspond with a rich tradition of moving images, kinetic art and experimental cinema.
Aga Jarząb 1977 | Wrocław, Poland
Graduated from the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław. I do a lot of things: animated films with traditional techniques (my favourite), drawings, art objects, and design. I collaborate with many cultural institutions as a graphic designer and animator. I also work with students at the Academy of Art and Design, acting as a professor assistant in the Media Art Department.
Maciek Bączyk 1977 | Wrocław, Poland
A graduate of Cultural Studies at the University of Wroclaw. Maciek Bączyk works with sound and image in practice and in theory. In 2010 Bączyk returned to visual arts, mainly experimental film and installations. One of the most important features of his works is a manual contact with film, tapes, tools and the production process itself. He has performed and recorded with bands such as AGD, Robotobibok, Małe Instrumenty and his current bands: Kristen, Pin Park. He is also a guest curator at the Think Tank Lab Triennale, International Festival of Contemporary Drawing in Wrocław.
