Experiencing Interruptions?

The Silver Kings

Fitz, Josie, and Freddie have just left school and, faced with differing notions on who they are and who they are supposed to be, they question their place in a world that seems in danger of leaving them behind.

Fitz sees himself alone in life, faced with responsibility but no idea how to use it. Josie takes everything as it comes. Freddie? He thinks it's all a waste of time anyway - just get high and get on with it.

Freddie's older brother, Danny - who sells drugs out of an ice cream van - leaves town for the weekend, and the three take it upon themselves to watch his house for him - without him knowing, of course.

The Silver Kings is a discussion of the chaos caused when the person as whom you perform and the person inside your mind don't quite match. When the world is so loud, it's the silences you suffer that show your true being.

Shot over 11 days with a budget of just £1500, this first feature from emerging filmmaker Rowan Jacobs hopes to display just what he and his friends can do.

Director Biography - Rowan Jacobs

Having never before referred to himself in the third person, Rowan hopes to have his films seen by as wide an audience as possible, while gathering every shred of artistic intelligence that he can along the way.

Bringing filmmaking back to reality is key to him, in that he wants to rid cinema of its ivory towers and show the world you don't need a six or seven-figure budget to tell stories that connect with our innermost troubles.

A 21 year-old graduate, Rowan is now focused on writing his next project. Whether he will carry on referring to himself in the third person remains one of the great questions of our time.
