The First Wave
A short film 'The First Wave' intends to convey the physical but more importantly the inert emotional riots that happened during the evolution of the suffragettes and the first wave of feminism.
This film will counter how feminism is portrayed today; with fierce opposition to male influence and over feminine aggressive techniques. We aim to deliver this film through the eyes of a female subject and highlight themes such as the triple shift; Cooking, Cleaning and Children rejecting Mulvey's Male Gaze. Bringing the audience into the mind of a completely suppressed individual however without the shouting and yelling but with long takes, stillness and silence...

Magdalena Kozak is 3rd Year (BA) FILM & TELEVISION student of London College of Communication. She is originally from Poland but have lived in London for over 3 years.
She has gained a various experience in film production. She has directed two short films: 'Void' (2014) and 'The First Wave' (2013). She has produced two short films: 'Crossroad' (2014) and 'Bardo Green' (2012).
Magdalena was volunteering on EAST END FILM FESTIVAL in 2013 working as a videographer and co-editing a promo video for the upcoming year of the Festival. During summer 2014 she has been involved in a feature horror film 'Vampire Resurrection' directed by Mark Morris. She is working as Production Manager/1st Assistant Director. The premiere of the film is planned in 2016. In October of 2014 Magdalena worked as 1st Assistant Director on a short film 'Scarecrow' directed by Alex Browning, which was developed by via Creative England and is to be screened theatrically at The Lexi, Hackney Picturehouse and Deptford Cinema in London.
Moreover, she worked as a Production Assistant on a youth art programme 'The South Show' (2013), which was broadcasted live. Magdalena has gained experience in camera operating working as 1st Assistant Camera on 'On the Doorstep' (2014) and 2st Assistant Camera on 'The Unfolded Story of A Skillful Murderer' (2014).
