Director Statement

I have always been drawn to the unique experiences and intricate mise-en-scene in long takes, hoping to make a one-shot film. Yet, it significantly intensifies the challenges of screenwriting, cinematography and acting, and I have never ventured into this territory.
However, during the winter of 2022, as the Omicron swept across China, a unique opportunity emerged. People chose to stay at home for recovery or to avoid infection, which provided the spatial and temporal continuity for executing a continuous shot. Besides, the sense of reality brought by long takes is exactly in line with this realistic theme.
