21st Century Dairymen
Focussing on the labour of farming, this documentary offers a portrait of the everyday practices of a modern conventional dairy system.
Dairy farming can be like Groundhog Day with daily tasks like milking and mucking out sheds. Captured on a Cumbrian family farm, the subjects present how much effort and skill goes into producing milk. The film follows the farmers as they go fertiliser spreading, feeding cows and much less obvious jobs like tagging calves' ears and removing metal contaminants from fodder.
