21st ICFFI OFFICIAL PROGRAMME
COMPETITIVE SECTION -
I. COMPETITION INTERNATIONAL
The section will screen children’s feature-length films that adhere to globally recognized standards of excellence in film-making.
Eligibility -
Live Action Features, Animation and Documentary Features are eligible for this Section
Films with a duration of 60 minutes or more will be considered features
Only features completed after 1st June 2017 and not submitted in previous ICFFIs are eligible for submission.
All Indian films should either be certified by the Central Board of Film Certification, India or have obtained exemption under Section 9 of Cinematograph Act, 1952. Films that are certified “A” by CBFC are not eligible.
II. COMPETITION SHORTS
This section will present the best of children’s short length films from India and across the world
Eligibility-
Live-Action, Animation and Documentary shorts not exceeding 30 minutes in length will be eligible for competition
Shorts produced after 1st June 2017 and not submitted in previous ICFFIs organized by CFSI are eligible for submission.
All Indian films should either be certified by the Central Board of Film Certification, India or have obtained exemption under Section 9 of Cinematograph Act, 1952. Films that are certified “A” by CBFC are not eligible.
III. COMPETITION INDIA
This section will present the best of children’s films from India and aims to encourage talented Indian filmmakers who are making high quality, sensitive and entertaining films for children.
Eligibility-
Live Action Features, Animation and Documentary Features produced in India are eligible
The Director must be an Indian citizen and at least one of the producers must be an Indian citizen.
Films with a duration of 60 minutes or more will be considered features
Features produced after 1st June 2017 and not submitted in previous ICFFIs are eligible for submission.
All Indian films should either be certified by the Central Board of Film Certification, India or have obtained exemption under Section 9 of Cinematograph Act, 1952. Films that are certified “A” by CBFC are not eligible.
IV. COMPETITION LITTLE DIRECTORS
The aim of this section is to encourage children & young people to experiment with the moving image and stimulate the pursuit of film-making both as an art as well as a creative expression of their point of view.
Eligibility-
Age: Films must be made by individual children/groups of children below the age of 16. The core team (Director, Cameraperson, editor, etc.) should be below the age of 16.
Films made by children under the guidance of adults are eligible but the contribution of adults should be confined to training or facilitating the process & should not be extended to areas like scripting, shooting, storyboarding or animating.
Entry Fee: No entry fees for Little Directors.
Films must be subtitled in English
Films must be suitable for children - content should have no explicit violence, sexual reference or coarse language.
Films can be shot on any video format available: HD, mp4 format, DVD.
Final Exhibition Format: The exhibition format must be DVD with a resolution of 1920x1080 (PAL).
The films must’ve been produced between 2017-19 & should not be submitted to previous edition ICFFIs.
Only films that have been cleared of rights (including musical rights) will be accepted.
Films must be entered by nominated parent (for individual entries) or teacher / supervisor / trainer / mentor (for group entries).
It is the obligation of the nominated parent/teacher/trainer/mentor entering the film for Competition (from now on referred to as ‘Legal Guardian’) to ensure that the director and/or director’s Legal Guardian own all copyright for or have written permission to use all underlying works included in the film including music, performance and script.
It is mandatory to submit age proof of creative team viz. director, camera person, editor etc. (school card copy / or photo ID with date of birth).
NON-COMPETITION SECTIONS -
I. CHILDREN'S WORLD -
Every year the festival prides itself on screening outstanding high-quality entertaining cinema from different regions of the world in the non-competitive Children’s World section. All Live-Action, Animation, Documentary films offered for consideration for competitive sections may be considered for participation in Children’s World.
II REGIONAL PANORAMA -
Regional language features and shorts will be screened in the Regional Panorama.
