Director Biography - Jean Claude Maton

He was born in France on 14.12.1958 in Mouy, a small town sixty kilometers north of Paris, in Picardy. Of French nationality and Italian citizenship, he took his first steps into the world of painting in 1972-73. The great love for hyperrealism led him to a very precise painting with different themes ranging from contemporary still life to portraits of faces and characters. Participate in several group exhibitions in the province of origin.
He moved to Italy in 1985.
He opens an artisan goldsmith's workshop, with jewelery creations, personally carrying out all stages of processing, from design, creation of the lost wax prototype, metal casting to the setting of the stones.
This passage in his life will inevitably lead him to a compromise between painting and sculpture using different materials such as stone, concrete, plaster, wood and any material that inspires him.
At the beginning of 2009 Jean-Claude Maton started from the idea of creating frames / sculptures very different from those currently seen, considering the frame no longer as a trivial support that ends a painting but that can be an integral part of the work, reinforcing its message .
The result was defined as absolutely innovative.
His paintings and bas-reliefs portray, in some works, the harsh reality of a sick present.
Jean-Claude's journey continues with works that range from the hyperrealism of the present to disturbing futuristic themes.
Since 2019, having always had a passion for cinema, she has been following scriptwriting and directing courses with masters of cinema for three years.
He writes several screenplays and makes his first video work in 2021.
In 2022 with the opera 2055 he made his first short film.

His motto is "I am nothing, but there is a world in nothing".

Director Statement

I must admit that the year 2020, during Covid-19 pandemic, worried me a lot when the obligation of masks, distancing, even limiting meetings in a family of 6 people, not being able to go from one province to another without it solid justifications, not to mention self-certifications.
I imagined an expansion of this social drama and the
repercussions it could have on the humanity of the future.
It is inevitable that it would cause a drastic change on ours
social - psychological relationship.
Despite all the flaws we have, we need contacts, to hug each other, laugh with friends etc ... We are HUMANS!
To avoid all this misfortune, we must respect the recommendations.
