Greetings Student Film Creators from around the world!

Welcome to the 1 World Student Film Festival which celebrates and showcases the most original, entertaining, exciting and finely structured well made short films by the most talented aspiring film students from all over our entire globe.

We started the 1 World Student Film Festival in order to showcase young and/or aspiring filmmakers taking their first steps in the world of short film creation. In our festival we will screen the most innovative new films from film students around the world in all different genres including drama, comedy, documentary, experimental, horror, animation and more. All we require is that films are made with conviction, a quest for originality and will involve an audience. This season we will screen our festivals in Phnom Penh, the Paris of the East, one of the most beautiful and vibrant cities in south east Asia with a fascinating and dramatic history.

Our festival will give audiences a chance to see the wide variety of fantastic short films that are being produced by film students around the world. We accept any genre from drama to action to horror to documentary to comedy to animation and we prize originality above all. We also offer awards for the individual talents that go into making a successful film such as directing, script-writing, acting and production values. The films will be judged by a panel of filmmakers, performers and creative people who know and love films. We are looking for dynamic scripts, direction and performances. Films that are, above all, involving. We look forward to seeing your efforts.

Rules & Terms

The 1 World Student Film Festival's decision is final, and we cannot enter into discussion about films not accepted.

To qualify for the Student Fee you must have proof you are currently in full time education.

If selected, your film can only be screened for the festival edition you have submitted to. We cannot postpone screenings of your film to later festivals.

If your film is chosen to screen in competition, we will send you an acceptance email and request a download or digital transfer of your short film and expect to receive one as soon as possible. The file must be received by the date stated in the acceptance email, or your film will not be screened.

1 World Student Film Festival is hereby granted the right to utilize for up to a year after the festival an excerpt or image from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes. The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized for up to a year after the festival to commit the film for screening and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations.
