Director Biography - Harry New

"Harry first came to City Eye over a year ago with some experience
making short, fun videos in school and humorous promotional clips for Wagamama's social media. However, in his gap year, he began to wonder whether he could take his storytelling to the next level. Could he develop his skills and create something more substantial?

Since then, Harry has worked tirelessly, attending various City Eye
activities, including our writers’ group and 1825 Filmmakers, and
participating in two DVMISSION 48 Hour Film Challenges. He has become a valued member of our community - personable, kind, and passionate about film. These qualities, combined with a natural inclination for solving problems, have made him a standout talent. His ability to approach the world with thoughtful, often profound reflections is inspiring and positions him as a natural storyteller."
-Aaron West, Head of Production at City Eye

Director Statement

A lot of short films have dark twists. I love these films, but many in sequence can become depressing. In an attempt to bring some laughs and some Christmassy joy, I wanted to make a film with the reverse twist - that the stakes are a lot lower than they seem.
