Damien Dematra is a humanitarian, novelist, director, script writer, producer, international photographer, and painter. He has written101 novels in dual languages, English and Indonesian, 81 films and TV scenarios, and produced 48 films in various genres.

President Obama has written a high appreciation for Damien’s works and his efforts to improve relations between Indonesia and the USA.

He also founded Indonesian Artists Care Movement (GAIB) to gather Indonesian artists who care a lot about humanity.

He is also the founder and director of International Peace Ambassadors (IPA).

In late 2013, he received a statue and award from the King of Kutai Mulawarman for his contribution to world peace.

Damien also founded the World Humanitarian Award (WHA). In collaboration with IFFPIE, WHA has given the Inspiring Man of the year 2014 award conferring to the President of Indonesia from 2014 to 2019. The award was received by Jokowi himself in his office.
Damien is also the initiator of 'A Salute to Jokowi', an international series of events to celebrate the victory of President Jokowi. Recently, Damien established iHebat International Volunteers to set up, aimed at promoting Indonesia's creative economy across the world.

In 2014, Damien was the only filmmaker who was awarded the Star of IndonesiaSatu Award for outstanding achievement in the film industry and contribution to peace.
