Education of Saints

Education of Saints focuses on a pivotal time in 1980's Ireland, through the experiences of 17 year old Sinead Malloy we are shown a unique perspective of small town Ireland. We meet Sinead in the present day, at UC Berkeley where she works as a Poetry Professor. News from Ireland delivers shocking news, forcing Sinead to return to the city of Galway to a past she tried to leave behind.

Education of Saints is a portrait of a group of talented musicians and friends, forced to come of age in a repressive yet beautiful landscape. The film trawls the depths of true loyalty and illustrates the destructive nature of infatuation. Education of Saints is an unusual and unique story of true friendship, impossible love and unrelenting loyalty .

Writer Biography - Louisa de Cossy

Louisa is a graduate cum laude from UC Berkeley’s Art Practice Department where she specialized in film production. After graduating, Louisa studied and then worked at the Saul Zaentz media center where she helped to run the Berkeley Digital Film Institute. During that time Louisa consulted on the production and development of films such as Zaytoun, Witness11, IOU, and most recently Up Pohnpei.
