A product of the TV/Film and Art School at San Jose State University, he had the discipline to also play four years of varsity soccer. A real Pacific Islander, Kohne has worked in Silicon Valley as an educator, producer, and television content provider.
In 2005, he developed a new template for the Hawai’i entertainment industry, including projects that took active participation in the culture and community. His production and direction of the BAREFOOT NATIVES, the music duo of Willie K and Eric Gilliom, allowed for the pair to highlight the award-winning full feature comedy, GET A JOB. He was honored as the "Filmmaker With Foresight" by Maui Time in 2010, and as a "Person Who Made A Difference" by the Maui News in 2011.
He has written a second Pacific island-based motion picture, KULEANA, that he will also direct. Again he will team-up with producer Stefan Schaefer of Cicala Filmworks. Kohne is also attached with producer Raymond Rolak in another 70's style thriller, A SPOONFUL OF SUGAR, projected for 2019.
Kohne is one of the founding principals in the new cutting edge entertainment company, HAWAI'I CINEMA INC.
"All the people of Hawaii were the real stars in GET A JOB, we had an extended Ohna (family)."
