The 180’ Berlin FilmFest is looking for creations that tell a lot in a short period of time for its 7th edition in Berlin (Germany) December 2024!

We welcome shorts of all genres of up to 30 minutes and there's also a special space for microfilms of up to 3 minutes (hence the name 180' Berlin Filmfest!).

Our ultimate goal is to provide a fresh and exciting experience for independent filmmakers. We want to support you and tell your story!

We joined Grow My Tree in planting a greener world! Now a part of every submission goes towards planting trees. Thank you for contributing!

We choose films and screenplays for our official selection and as semifinalists. They receive digital laurels.

Then, the official selection can win one or several of our awards, which vary. Award winners receive:

- Digital laurel
- Digital certificate of award
- Digital certificate of tree planted with Grow My Tree

We don't offer cash prizes at this time.

You may submit your film to multiple categories.

Films must have a maximum duration of 30 minutes.

Films must have been produced after January 1st 2016.

Films that have dialogue must include English dialogue or English subtitles.

All films must be independently produced and financed.

For student films we require student ID or similar proof.

Screenplays must be for short films, not features. Their length should be between 40-45 pages or, exceptionally, up to 80 pages. We only accept screenplays in English.

We reserve the right to determine the eligibility of any project.

We do not provide invitation letters for visa purposes.

When you submit to us, you opt in to ~4 emails/year with tips and discount codes for us and partner festivals. To opt out, just email us at info@180berlinfilmfest.de or unsubscribe through the link at the end of one of our emails. We won't spam - only send you helpful info and resources!

Thank you so much for making it all the way from the USA, Al! Those moments when we get to chat with the filmmakers and see them chat with each other are our favourites. Here's to doing it again soon!
