The battle between a writer and his typewriter. A violent showdown seems unavoidable. The Terrible Typewriter, set in the 1930’s, is a thriller/dark comedy swedish Noir with a touch of H.P. Lovecraft.

Director Statement

In writing for the screen I tend to use my own fear and worries, twist it, put some dark humor in it, and put it into another context. The Terrible Typewriter (2015), set in the 1930’s, is about the hardness of writing and the fact that it sometimes can be difficult to know what’s real or not. Coffee Break (2011) was about fear of radioactivity and lack of empathy, Forlorn Hope (2009) and 12 pounds (2012) had 17th century settings and are about where bad leadership may lead you.
I guess my writing is my voice to explain, maybe just to myself, who I am.
