Speed, Mud & Glory
Speed, Mud & Glory is a movie-documentary about Speedway for the big screen - smell the scent of methanol and burnt castor oil...
Story:
What is Speedway anyway? The Munich movie-maker filmed German Speedway rider Martin Smolinski and his team for over three years. The movie captures the fascination of Speedway sports and portrays enthusiasts that practice a sport that filled German stadiums in the 60s, 70s and 80s and that appeared on the sports news on TV thanks to world champion Egon Müller. Today Speedway in Germany has fallen into a deep sleep and there exists almost no reporting about it. In other countries Speedway pros earn millions.
Being a "no-name" Martin Smolinski fights difficulties like Don Quichotte windmills to qualify as one of the best 16 riders in the world for the olymp of Speedway - The Grand Prix.
