Barney and Barry, The Hitchhikers

How would you like to wake up and have unwanted visitors attached to you...for life? Fletcher the sea turtle is a curmudgeon, a loner. Barney and Barry are bickering barnacles looking for a home. They find Fletcher, attach themselves and their lives together begin, poor Fletcher. The trio’s relationship morphs as the three warm up to each other in their wacky situation. While resting on the surface of the water, an odd looking bird lands on Fletcher’s shell. Babs the Dodo’s beaming face brightens their day and when she says goodbye and flies toward her island home, Fletcher is mesmerized. The threesome devise a plan for Fletcher to impress her and then the adventures really begin with an unpredictable journey that transforms Fletcher from a dull, uncaring soul into a dazzling hero.

Writer Biography - Sharon Powers

Sharon Powers currently divides her time between living in Hawaii and Baja, Mexico. She has two grown children, two grandsons and a lovable dog named Mia. Besides writing, her time is filled with various hobbies, special projects and her family and friends.

Sharon started her career in accounting and worked as a controller for a manufacturing company. In 1997, she opened Pink Lava in La Jolla, CA, which was the sixth womens surf shop to open in the country.

Sharon began writing screenplays at the age of twenty-nine. Two of her screenplays have been optioned, she’s worked as a writer-for-hire and placed as a finalist in the America’s Best writing competition. She’s currently working on a new novella and completed adapting her first screenplay into a book. "Seaspan" is a self-published fantasy romance novella.

“Barney and Barry, The Hitchhikers”, also self-published, is her first book and is adapted from her original screenplay of the same name. It’s a pilot for an animated children’s series and has placed in several screenplay competitions. Her original screenplay "Duffy Girl" has placed in several competitions, winning 1st place in the Honolulu Film Awards and as a finalist in the Catalina Film Festival. The second book in her MySeaBuddies series will be availble in 2016.
