Namesake
This daring drama chronicles American families from 1619 to 1870 and features key incidents in the founding of our nation. Our story begins in 1619 when a pirates steal a shipload of African servants and brings them to America, thus changing the course of the nation forever. In Virginia, one young servant is faithful to his task and becomes America's first black freedman. He prospers, but not without trials. Blacks, whites and Native Americans struggle side-by-side during this era of change that eventually spawns slavery.

I've lived through six generations of television and movies and have yet to show what I've learned. I began as a fan getting signed photos from such stars as Ron Howard, Lorne Greene, Carol Burnett, Sammy Davis, Jr., and others. Now, I use what I've learned to write about black lives.
