Director Biography - Orion Canning

California native Orion Canning studied cinematography at Brooks Institute of Photography before acquiring a degree in Film Theory from Cal State Northridge. He emigrated to Olympia Washington to live near his brother, living in relative squalor while producing a number of zero budget digital short films and crowdfunding videos. In addition to making videos, he has written numerous unpublished narrative-focused tabletop role playing games, an unreleased electronic music album, and has dabbled in photography and poetry.

Director Statement

I spent a whole year making this 10 minute movie while struggling with maintaining a decaying housing situation and my own internal issues with self motivation. Thanks to all my friends who helped make it happen. Originally it was meant to be a submission to channel 101 but it was written long and editing it down to 5 minutes has been daunting. What does it mean? It's a parody of X-files and Twin Peaks, a satire of modern television, and just a bit of stupid fun.
