Director Biography - Rachel Serada Barth

Rachel Serada Barth is a filmmaker originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. After four years full-time with CNN International on a twice-Peabody winning team, she received two international producing fellowships with the International Center for Journalists, first in Berlin in 2010, and then in Moscow in 2013 ahead of the Winter Olympics.

Since entering film, Rachel has worked as a Creative Producer on narrative and documentary content around the world, for clients like Apple, Google and Coca Cola. She has worked on a range of creative ads and films, from the Cannes Lion Titanium Grand Prix-winning Dove “Real Beauty” Campaign, to working as the Sacramento Locations Supervisor for the Oscar-nominated film "Lady Bird." She has produced several Vimeo Staff Picks and Staff-Pick Premieres, as well as short films that have screened at TIFF, AFI Fest, Palm Springs Shortfest, Austin Film Festival, Mill Valley and more.

In 2022, she won the Tribeca X Award for her series of doc shorts about Helpful People, including the short film "Golden Age Karate," which also was acquired by NBC's "Meet the Press."

"Rocking Horses" is Rachel's first short film as a Writer/Director.
