Director Biography - Peggy Fleming

When I retired from the National Park Service I became a photographer. In 2009 I began taking documentary film courses at American University. "America. Summer. 2016. What is going on?" is the first film made out of school.

In Summer 2016, in the midst of the presidential campaign, I drove across the country with my family. I was scared by what I was hearing in the media. I decided to ask people for their opinions. Using my iPhone I approached people at gas stations, in restaurants, on ferries, in airports, on the Rogue River, in several national parks. Everyone I approached wanted to talk.
