If Only You Knew

“IF ONLY YOU KNEW”
Synopsis by Donna Lynn Merrill

“IF ONLY YOU KNEW” is a feel-good drama with a sci-fi twist.

IF ONLY YOU KNEW is the story of Jack Kirkman who is confined to his arm chair by a disease. He is an engineer who works for the sewer plant in Connecticut by day, and eats Marie Callender’s chicken pot pies and binges on sports television and Bud Light beer by night.

However, when Jack’s disease becomes terminal, he undergoes an extraordinary journey as he undergoes a brain upload to cheat death. He experiences the worst of times and the best of times with his bipolar friend, Brenda Morrissey, and the little emotional support animal they share named Opi.

Brenda’s sub-plot within the story is that her dog, Opi, is the soul of Nikola Tesla, a famous inventor who died about 100 years ago. Nikola is reincarnated and paired with Brenda Morrissey, who discovers she is the living soul of Nikola’s beloved friend Katherine McMahon Johnson.

Jack’s sub-plot within the story is that, on Planet Ryder, Deus Informatica is the government and it’s a brand of governing that is based on suppressing the growth of a very highly advanced society of artificial intelligence beings called humanoids in order to rule absolutely over them. Jack Kirkman’s job in his humanoid body is to eradicate Rebels in the society. Yet, he discovers his own son is a Rebel and will be killed or suffer in prison for the rest of his life. Jack Kirkman has to come up with a solution to get his son off the hook. He finds out the identity of Deus Informatica and learns of the government’s plot to enslave humanoids when he discovers a video that is encoded in DNA.

IF ONLY YOU KNEW is an indie flick with Hollywood Blockbuster potential. It tells the story of a father’s love for his son and how to learn to love yourself when you come from a position of hate. This film crosses the barrier of time and space and leads to a victory as well as a spiritual healing for all during a philosophical transcendence of personal character by the end of the film as Jack Kirkman discovers that his inability to deal with emotional pain has led to the breakdown of his physical condition in his present life. And Brenda Morrissey realizes she doesn’t have to live with the dream of having custody of her 10 year old daughter or the nightmares of mental hospitals any longer because Jack’s son has a plan to make sure his father and Brenda can have it all!
